The Vienna Mozart Orchestra performs at Vienna's legendary venues, such as the Golden Hall of Musikverein, the Vienna State Opera and the Great Hall of Konzerthaus.

The Vienna Mozart Orchestra

Founded back in 1986, the Vienna Mozart Orchestra consists of 30 musicians, among them members of the Vienna Philharmonic and Vienna Symphony orchestras. In order to recreate the baroque atmosphere of 18th century Vienna, the musicians are dressed in period costumes.

Opera singers from the Vienna State Opera or Vienna Volksoper perform much-loved arias from Mozart's operas.

The Vienna Mozart Orchestra was founded with the aim to preserve and cultivate the musical tradition of Vienna, with a special dedication to the works of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The concerts in Vienna take place from May until the end of October, four times a week.

In winter, the Vienna Mozart Orchestra is on tour. The orchestra has visited Japan eight times, and opened the 1991 Mozart Year in Tokyo. Further tours have taken the orchestra to USA, Canada, Malta, Germany, Slovenia, Italy, Spain, Greece, Morocco, Brazil, Panama, Turkey, Guatemala, Mexico, Ukraine, Cyprus, Singapore, Korea, Taiwan.

The Vienna Mozart Orchestra has recorded several CDs:

  • The Best of Mozart Vol. 1 and 2
  • A Mozart Concert in Vienna
  • A Mozart Evening in Vienna
  • Sinfonia concertante & Clarinet Concerto

The Venues

The Golden Hall of Musikverein is best known for the Vienna New Year's Concert. The concert hall is world-famous for its visual beauty and impeccable acoustics.

Brahms-Hall of Musikverein is considered to be the perfect concert hall for chamber music. With its green walls, red columns and plenty of gold, Brahms-Hall looks like a little treasure chest. The interior of the room is held in the style of "Greek Renaissance".

The Vienna State Opera is the premiere opera and classical music venue in Vienna.

The repertoire of the Vienna Mozart Orchestra includes more than 100 works by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

The concerts are performed in the style of 18th century “Musical Academies” at which it was usual to perform single movements from his many symphonies and solo concertos, as well as overtures, arias and duets from his best-known operas.

The favorite works by Mozart are performed at every concert!

The highlights:

W. A. MOZART:

Overtures, arias and duets from Don Giovanni, The Marriage of Figaro, The Magic Flute etc.

Movements from symphonies and serenades such as Eine kleine Nachtmusik, Symphony No. 40, Symphony No. 41 “Jupiter” etc.

Concertos for piano, violin, flute etc.

Johann Strauss:

The Blue Danube” Waltz, Radetzky March
