The Vienna Mozart Orchestra – A Mozart Night in Vienna

Step back in time for an evening of Mozart’s most popular music, performed by the Vienna Mozart Orchestra in full historical costume. From lively overtures and beautiful arias to famous symphonic movements, the program is designed for visitors who want to experience Vienna’s musical spirit in a relaxed and entertaining setting.

The orchestra features 30 professional musicians — including members of top Viennese ensembles — and often welcomes soloists from the Vienna State Opera or Volksoper. While the focus is 100% on Mozart, each concert ends with a light-hearted bonus: the Blue Danube Waltz by Johann Strauss II.

Founded in 1986, the Vienna Mozart Orchestra is dedicated to sharing Vienna’s rich musical heritage with audiences from all over the world.

The concerts run from May through October, several nights a week. In the winter, the orchestra performs abroad on international tours.

The Vienna Mozart Orchestra’s repertoire features over 100 works by the great master of the Viennese Classical era, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart.

Concerts are performed in the style of 18th-century “Musical Academies,” where it was common to present individual movements from Mozart’s symphonies and solo concertos, alongside overtures, arias, and duets from his most famous operas.

What do I need to bring when collecting my tickets?
Tickets can only be collected at the evening box office upon presentation of the printed booking confirmation. The box office opens at 7:15 pm, exactly one hour before the performance begins.

Is there a dress code?
Smart evening attire is recommended, but there is no compulsory dress code.

How long do the Vienna Mozart Concerts last?
Concerts start at 8:15 pm and end around 10:00 pm.

Is there an intermission?
Yes, there is a 15-minute break halfway through the performance.

Can I take photos or record videos during the concert?
No. Taking photos, audio or video recordings, and the use of mobile phones, smartphones, tablets, etc. are strictly prohibited during the performance.

Is there a cloakroom available?
Yes, coats, jackets, umbrellas, backpacks, and similar items must be left at the cloakroom. Please note the cloakroom fee is not included in the ticket price.

Is the venue wheelchair accessible?
Yes, the concert halls are wheelchair accessible.

Are toddlers allowed?
Children under 5 years of age are not admitted.
